He will, because I’m going to make him.
(for the record, Sidney would not date Bee because Bee is essentially a happy version of Sidney and Sidney would probably want to take her head off after five minutes.)
I feel like there should be a Tumblr of people drawing their characters in 1920’s fashion. It should be called FuckYeahProhibitionEra or something.
I’m taking a break for tonight, my hand is getting pretty tired. Will resume answers tomorrow!
Yes, I do use traditional materials as well. Gasp!
edit: When I say “paper” here I mean bristol. Whoops.
This one takes a little more than an infographic to answer.
Designing characters is a tricky and time consuming process - if you want to do it right, that is. Most of the characters you create are going to be pretty flat at first. It’s a lot of molding and rethinking and redesigning, sometimes for months. And a lot of a character’s personality traits are going to be defined by how they interact with other characters, which means you need to create them too.
Designing the characters of Distillum took me about three months and several sketchbooks. Originally, Rob had crazy cheekbones, and some of you may remember “the chin.” Jamie was originally a surfer/stoner type. Kavitha was originally punk rock, and Sidney’s first designs included army boots. They all changed as I worked with them to make their personalities and physical appearances compliment each other in interesting ways - you’ll notice that Rob and Kavitha have a lot of spot blacks, while Jamie and Sidney’s pallet is mostly white. Eventually I reached a stage where I felt comfortable with what I had, and I got started.
Always remember that characters will change as you draw/write them, too! And that’s okay. Go with the flow. I hope this answers your question, anon! :D
What are your character’s favourite pokemon?
